The client, an IT infrastructure department within a major bank that would deliver more than 150 projects that year, wanted to improve its client service by providing early warning to the business about the change impacts of its projects, which range from short-term operational disruption to major process changes.
Strategy2Life developed a diagnostic tool of change management impacts across 70 of its major projects of the portfolio, aggregated by business area and pinpointing the level of change impact month by month.
The development and implementation of the diagnostic also required changing the culture of the group, namely, getting highly technical project directors who are typically more comfortable dealing with technology, to consider the people impacts of their projects.
